Are you bogged down with work overload? Do you have a never ending to-do list? If the answer is yes then you need to start delegating.
Asking for help and entrusting others with tasks which can be delegated reduces burden on our physical and mental selves. We often think asking for help is a sign of weakness and will make us look incompetent in front of others. Sometimes we feel we are the best choice for carrying out certain tasks.
Remember there is only so much you can do single-handedly however if we share work a lot can be accomplished.
While delegating tasks be clear with the instructions and be flexible with the outcome. A jaundiced view of how you want a task to be done and what you expect can actually add to the stress. Therefore, pass on the chores which are routine or repetitive. Or, delegate to an expert.
Give occasional feedback and input without being critical. Added advantage of delegation is more people working together can bring about better solutions and outcomes.
